Although there are many workouts in the studio that are equipment-free, to get the most out of your membership, I recommend having access to at least one set of dumbbells (ideally two -- a light pair and a heavy pair). This will provide you with a greater variety of workouts to choose from! If you're looking to expand your fitness gear, I also offer workouts that use resistance bands and kettlebells but these are totally optional and not necessary for the majority of the workouts.
Absolutely! I have created this studio with a mission to provide fun, shame-free fitness for ALL fitness levels. In fact, there is an entire collection of workouts dedicated for those new to fitness! I would also suggest trying out the "Chardio" workouts -- a collection of 30 minute cardio workouts from a chair!
In addition to those specific collections, I always include as many modifications and alternative options as possible throughout all of my classes!
The HWK On-Demand Studio was created as a diet culture-free haven from the typical fitness narrative. You won't find any disempowering language around weight loss, body size, or "burning this or sculpting that". Instead you will be encouraged to focus on the feeling of movement and embracing your body just the way it is!
